Description:

This adware may be dropped by other malware.

It may be downloaded unknowingly by a user when visiting malicious Web site(s).

It creates folder(s) where it drops file(s)/component(s).

It creates registry entry(ies) to enable its automatic execution at every system startup.

It creates registry key(s) as part of its installation routine.

It accesses Web sites to download file(s). It then executes the downloaded file which is also detected by Trend Micro as ADW_FAKEAV.O. It is a rogue antispyware application that may give exaggerated reports of threats on the system affected.

The user is then prompted to pay for a full license of the application in order to remove the fake threat.
