PE_MAGISTR.DAM is Trend Micro’s detection for files that were incorrectly infected by the PE_MAGISTR.A virus.

Most of the infected files detected as PE_MAGISTR.DAM still contains the main virus code. However, the instructions that jump to the main virus code are missing. This is due to some bugs in the infection process of PE_MAGISTR.A.

Files detected as PE_MAGISTR.DAM cannot infect other files, are already corrupted and cannot be repaired. They must be replaced with clean backup copies.
