This Trojan uses social engineering methods to lure users into performing certain actions that may, directly or indirectly, cause malicious routines to be performed. Specifically, it intercepts communication in Skye application.

Malware Overview

This Trojan is an open-source application that can be downloaded from a certain website.

It is capable of intercepting Skype traffic by patching a call in certain APIs.

This Trojan is intended as a proof-of-concept (POC) program but its code, which is now freely available, can be modified so that the information obtained from the Skype network are saved as audio files, such as .mp3s, and sent to a remote computer.
