Malware Overview
This Trojan may be downloaded from the Internet. It may also be dropped by another malware. It arrives as a specially-crafted .XLS file.
It exploits a vulnerability in the Microsoft spreadsheet application, MS Excel. For more information on the said vulnerability, please refer to the following Microsoft Web page:
Once successfully exploited, this Trojan executes a shell code, which allows it to drop and execute an embedded .EXE file. The embedded file is detected by Trend Micro as TROJ_AGENT.LEO. As a result, routines of the dropped Trojan may be exhibited on the affected system.
